Time Off!

So I mentioned in my last post that I've been working a ton... and nothing much has changed! A few weeks ago I was able to get some much needed time off to go home for my Mom's 50th birthday! We had such an awesome time hosting a party at our house (and a big one at that!) and just hanging out for the rest of the weekend. I wish I had some good pictures to show, but I slacked off and didn't get any good ones...

Since then, I haven't had a full day off - I've taken half days off, and even on my full days "off" I've usually had to go in for at least a few hours for meetings, etc. But this weekend, I enjoyed a full day off yesterday, and today, I only worked 8 hours (a hard thing to come by!) - which allowed me to reclaim my apartment from the depths of messiness, and do some shopping! After almost 4 months here, I finally have lamps!!

I don't mean to complain about my job - I love my job and my coworkers, and I would never expect to work this schedule if our plant hadn't been destroyed by a hurricane - but it really makes those days off sweeter! I spend a lot of time dreaming up all the things I'll do when I have weekends again, and could even take vacation days!

I'm definitely discovering that the less time I spend here, the messier it gets - and the messier it gets, the less I want to spend time at home! Funny how that works. Now that I've got it all cleaned up, I can't wait to come home and love spending time here! Now if Target would just get in the tv stand that I want....
